Community Guidelines

Welcome to ipsy's guidelines for our online community, which includes all the places where ipsy lives on the web, such as ipsy.com, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and Pinterest.

ipsy is about much more than just beauty products. We're about celebrating beauty of all forms in the world. We're about motivation, inspiration, and fostering a community that expresses both inner and outer radiance. We want to create a fun and safe place for ipsters to share their passions, ideas, experiences, and more. ipsy is a community full of diverse voices, and we're all here to support one another and learn new things.

WHAT TO DO

Be positive.

We believe in communicating with one another in the most positive way possible. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Non-constructive negativity doesn't add value to the community experience, so please do not disparage other ipsters, ipsy Creators, products, brands, or ipsy in general. We always welcome your feedback, and there's nothing wrong with a healthy debate or discussion, but please keep it constructive.

Help your fellow ipsters.

We love seeing ipsters help one another. Sharing advice, tips, and tricks is always encouraged. This is your community, so we welcome your partnership to keep the conversation fun, intelligent, and drama-free.

Show us what you got!

We want to see your videos, photos, and looks, and we love hearing your voice. Define yourself and don't be afraid to showcase your unique and one-of-a-kind beauty.

Share what's inspiring you, but remember, if it's not something you've created, get permission to share and give credit where credit's due! (And if you want us to find your work on our social channels, use our hashtags, like #ipsy!)

Contact us directly.

If you ever have an issue, question, or suggestion, the best and fastest way to get a response is to e-mail ipsyCare. In fact, due to privacy reasons, we cannot use public forums like Facebook to resolve many individual issues. We'll do our best to support you on our social media channels and answer general questions wherever we can, but it is always best to e-mail ipsyCare or Tweet @ipsyCare so they can investigate and help you!

Be respectful.

If you want respect, give it first. Every ipster has a right to participate on our website and social media channels without being ridiculed.

We have ipsters from all walks of life, so be mindful by avoiding hurtful language and anything that could potentially offend your fellow ipsters.

The ipsy Creators are a crucial part of our community, and always work hard to inspire you with amazing content. Please remember they are human beings -- just like you -- who deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.

We have a no-tolerance policy for abuse toward community members. Any comment that is negative, critical, judgmental, or disparaging in any sense toward an individual Creator, our Creators as a group, or a fellow ipster will be deleted.

Please extend respect not only to your fellow ipsters and the ipsy Creators, but also to the ipsyCare team! They're real people, here to provide you with stellar service and support, so please be nice. They'll always treat you with dignity and kindness, so we expect you to do the same.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Don't be rude, cruel, or intolerant.

Harassing, bullying, or intimidating other ipsters, or defaming the community, ipsy Creators, and the company as a whole, is not acceptable.

We do not tolerate name-calling; personal, professional, or religious attacks or threats; racist or sexist comments; hate speech (or any comments that could be interpreted as such); demeaning remarks based on personal appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.

Don't spam.

When you share content with the community, please provide context, don't post the same thing more than once, and don't share purely commercial links (like affiliate or referral programs). Also, please do not promote services that are direct competitors to ipsy.

It's fine to share your ipsy referral link here and there, but please don't spam our social media channels by posting your link more than once per day. Chances are, it won't help you get more referrals, and you'll just end up annoying ipsters who are already subscribed.

Don't post personal information.

We value privacy. Please don't post your own (or another ipster's) phone number, email address, physical mailing address, billing info, or any other personal information. Also, please do not post private correspondence between you and other ipsters, or between you and ipsy.

Don't impersonate another ipster.

Impersonating another human being is creepy and just plain wrong. Enough said.

Don't use fraudulent trickery to win our contests and giveaways.

This includes creating fake accounts, committing actual fraud, and generally using dishonest means to take advantage of our services.

We expect all ipsters to abide by these guidelines and the Terms of Use, and we reserve the right to remove offending content and ban anyone who persists in disruptive behavior from our social media channels in order to maintain a safe and positive community. Thank you for your cooperation!

If you violate our Community Guidelines:

It's kind of like baseball: you get three strikes before you're out. After your first violation of the Community Guidelines, our ipsyCare team will send you a warning message. You'll receive a second warning message after the second violation. If you commit another violation after that, your user account and subscription will be cancelled (which would just be super lame, so don't let it happen)! If the first or second violation is egregious enough, we reserve the right to ban immediately.
