One of the best things about beauty? There’s a little something for everyone. From oily skin types to dry skin types and from the full-glam lovers to the skincare-only crowd, anyone in search of a specific product can find a favorite that addresses their needs and helps them express what makes them unique.

Whether you use your brand choices to support causes you care about or makeup looks to show off your style, all of us at team IPSY love to see you embrace self-expression—and that’s why we’re so excited to tell you about Clean at IPSY!

Clean at IPSY is how we’re building on our commitment to you and better-for-you beauty options. We launched The Out List in 2021, and Clean at IPSY takes that initiative to the next level. From providing more transparency about what’s inside (or left out) of your products to making it easier to find products that align with your values, we’re empowering you with the knowledge to make beauty choices that are right for you. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about Clean at IPSY below.

What Does Clean at IPSY Mean for Me?

When you view a product on IPSY.com or on the IPSY app, you’ll be able to find information on whether it’s clean, vegan, or cruelty-free. For clean products, you’ll see an icon (look for a little green leaf!) that tells you it meets the Clean at IPSY standard. Vegan and cruelty-free products will be described as such in their descriptions. This makes it easier than ever to find products that fit your beauty ethos—especially because we’ll continue to bring you the best in clean beauty at an incredible value.

What Do Clean, Vegan, and Cruelty-Free Mean at IPSY?

  • Clean

A “clean” label highlights that a product meets our thoughtful, science-backed clean guidelines and excludes over 1,800 potentially harmful ingredients. We like to think of this label as one that empowers you with the knowledge to make mindful choices that help both people and planet.

  • Vegan

“Vegan” means that a product has been made without animal-derived ingredients and without ingredients made by animals. An example of an animal-derived ingredient is carmine, a commonly used bright-red pigment that comes from beetles. An ingredient made by animals is beeswax, which often appears in lip balm formulations.

  • Cruelty-free

When you see a product labeled as “cruelty-free” at IPSY, you’ll know that the final product was not tested on animals. Because products that are kind to our furry friends are ones we can all feel good using.
