Jules Miller is not your typical entrepreneur. She didn't start her wellness company, THE NUE CO, because she wanted to make a quick buck or jump on the trending self-care bandwagon. Miller’s journey began with a deeply personal struggle to heal her own body, and it led her to create a brand that is disrupting the industry in more ways than one. Meet the founder who's changing the game for wellness and redefining what it means to be healthy.

It's about glam time you treated yourself.

In Search of Solutions

Miller's story began in her early twenties when she was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). After trying various treatments, she discovered that the solution lay in her diet. She dove into the world of nutrition and natural remedies, eventually developing her own natural supplement routine that helped manage her IBS symptoms.

Fast forward a few years of working in the supplement industry, and she noticed a glaring issue: a lack of transparency and effectiveness. She saw an opportunity to create a brand that was transparent, effective, and focused on natural ingredients—and thus, THE NUE CO was born. “Nue means stripped back or naked,” says Miller. “That’s what I wanted our philosophy to be centered around, a non-negotiable approach to pure, efficacious ingredients.”

“[Starting my business] just made sense at the time,” says Miller. “I feel like I had spent so many years, or maybe my whole life, gathering insights for THE NUE CO. From going to the herbalist with my mother to learning about vitamin B12 from my grandfather, who was a chemist. I felt like I had so much to offer to the category, and in all honesty, there was no job out there that really spoke to me, so I decided to create one”

Building Her Brand

“I think my superpower during our first year was my naivety and lack of experience,” recalls Miller. “I had no hesitation in messaging every single CEO or founder I wanted to learn from. I met with every investor who would take the meeting, even Hedge Funds… who clearly had no interest in investing in me. I learned a lot through the process.”

Today, THE NUE CO offers a range of supplements and skincare products made with natural ingredients backed by scientific research (like THE NUE CO Barrier Culture Anti-Pollution Moisturizer and THE NUE CO Supa Thick Scalp Treatment Serum, which you might receive in your April Glam Bag). Each product from the brand comes with a full list of ingredients and information about how they were sourced, so you can feel confident about what you're putting in or on your body.

From the Prebiotic + Probiotic supplement (one of the brand’s first products and a current bestseller) to the Skin Filter supplement, there's something for literally everyone. They even created the coveted Sleep Drops, designed to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. And let's be real, who doesn't need a little help in the sleep department? Miller included.

“At that time [when we launched] (and for a while later), nothing else in my life mattered,” says Miller. “That’s the reality of getting a business off the ground. I didn’t see friends or family and dedicated every day of the week to THE NUE CO. It sounds miserable, but when you love what you do, it’s a privilege. I was so excited and pumped with adrenaline that I’d find it hard to sleep.”

But THE NUE CO isn't just about making you feel good—it's about doing good, too. “I think I’ve always been passionate about looking at health holistically,” says Miller. “It’s what we refer to as ‘Health is an ecosystem.’ It’s not enough to develop a pill that works, if in doing so you are contributing to millions of plastic bottles ending up in the sea (and eventually, back in our bodies).” The brand is committed to sustainability, using recycled and recyclable materials for its packaging and partnering with organizations like 1% for the Planet to donate a portion of its profits to environmental causes.

What’s Next for THE NUE CO?

Looking to the future, Miller has big plans for THE NUE CO. She wants to expand the brand's product offerings and continue to prioritize sustainability and transparency. She also wants to create a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to health, wellness, and sustainability. In other words, she's building an army of healthy, eco-conscious warriors.

In a world where transparency and effectiveness are hard to come by, THE NUE CO is a breath of fresh air. With natural ingredients, scientific research, and a commitment to sustainability, it's clear that Jules Miller and her team are on a mission to change the supplement and skincare game for good. Go ahead, and give her brand a try, your body (and the planet) will thank you.
