Bailey’s proclivity for true crime started from a young age. “My mother worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, and as a kid, I would go along with her to work,” she says. “She would give me headphones and let me listen to the phone calls she was taking. We look back and laugh about it, but now that I’m older…I don’t know why she was taking a child to work as a 9-1-1 dispatcher?!” Arguments aside, it was those experiences that introduced Bailey to the world of true crime, a passion she was able to merge with her other love: makeup.

“I had been doing makeup tutorials on YouTube for quite some time when, in 2018, I became enthralled by the Chris Watts case, but I had nobody to talk about it with,” says Bailey. “Then I had the idea, why not make a video where I talk about the case and do my makeup at the same time?” Murder, Mystery & Makeup was born. Her channel now features more than 120 videos of the series and boasts more than 884 million views.

Bailey has always been about pushing boundaries.
