Spring is officially in full swing and while April might bring its fair share of showers, the April Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus are all flowers. These daisy-studded designs are here to help you plant big ideas, nourish your self-care routines, and live a little greener (it’s also Earth Month!) in your everyday life.

Ever wondered what goes into creating our Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus designs each month? We tapped IPSY’s bag designer Joanne Wong to give us a behind the scenes look at the process, from inspo to design to construction.

April 2022 Glam Bag

“The April Glam Bag design was inspired by all the spring blooms coming to life, and all of the beauty, love, and new beginnings they symbolize,” says Wong. “I believe spring is the best time to find pleasure and purpose in loving and accepting yourself.” These blooms can be seen all over with a cheerful daisy print and dainty details—like the light gold, daisy-shaped zipper pull!

With Earth Day and Earth Month in April, it was important for Wong to create a bag that reflected this. The light pink canvas is made from recycled plastic and waste with a durable construction, so it can come along for all of life’s adventures. Then, be reused and repurposed when inspiration strikes.

April 2022 Glam Bag Plus

In a similar fashion, the outer fabric of April’s Glam Bag Plus utilizes material made from recycled plastic (helping to keep waste out of landfills)—making it easy on the planet and easy on the eyes. White-yellow daisies are printed on a sky blue backdrop, giving it a sunny ‘60s feel that can be paired with just about everything in your spring and summer wardrobes. “I’m going to bring this Glam Bag Plus drawstring bag to my Sunday's farmer market to get myself some beautiful flowers, fresh fruits, and an iced coffee to enjoy my Sunday morning,” Wong says, sparking ideas for our weekend plans too.
