Sometimes you just need a reminder of how special and beautiful you are, which is where our February Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus designs come in. We tapped LA-based creator (and self-care advocate) Dime Jones to guest design our February lineup and help you practice the art of self-love.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day (or as we prefer, self-love day), buy yourself flowers, wear a fragrance that makes you smile, and give yourself a compliment for trying that new lip color. Behind Your February 2023 Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus Designs

“I think my path to becoming a designer started when I was young,” says Dime. “I always loved to use my hands to create something. I used things in my home to create outlets. Also, my mom was a fashion major at trade tech, so I guess you can say it came naturally.”

Her classic and chic style (with fun pops of color and sparkle) were a seamless fit with our IPSY aesthetic, and we can’t wait for you to see them IRL. “This is my first ever major collaboration as a designer, so it means the world to be with a brand that I have actually supported since 2017,” says Dime.

“Outside of my grandmother, a lot of my designs are inspired by old Hollywood,” says Dime. “The Supremes, Cicely Tyson, women that admire, all the greats.” With those inspirations in mind, Dime started her design process by exploring colorways she wanted to choose. Then she worked with her graphic designer to help execute her vision. The goal: flow. “I wanted the designs to feel like your following towards love, life, peace, and self-love.”

“I think with it being Black History Month, I wanted it to signify how much self-love is important to us as a people and our survival,” she adds, which is where the moniker “Self-Love Is the Best Love” embossed on the bag comes into play. “I feel like in today's time, we don't use enough of our time to focus on ourselves and focus on healing, so I wanted to remind us that self-love is the only way to love others and the world.”

The marbled swirl of pinks and brown is a fun, modern take on typical Valentine’s day vibes, and the Glam Bag design is even topped with an enamel-like heart charm. “I love the prints; they take you almost to another world,” says Dime. “And I love the brown charm that can also be used for a necklace.

There are a ton of ways you can put your old Glam Bags to work, like organizing your bags, storing all your chargers when traveling, and even turning them into other things, like clothing. But Dime’s favorite way to use these February Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus designs: “You can bring this self-love bag anywhere and be reminded how much self-love can change your life.”
