April’s Glam Bag Design Will Inspire You to Look Good and Do Good
April means that a new season is upon us, and this new season is bound to welcome some amazing changes—both for us and for you! “It is a meaningful month that we get to demonstrate and encourage what we can do to make every day Earth Day,” says Joanne Wong, our Glam Bag designer. “I am always inspired by the people around me who reuse and recycle to reduce waste in their daily lives to keep our Earth beautiful.” Wong calls out easy, everyday changes, like bringing your own reusable cups to the coffee shop (sometimes you even get a discount!), using reusable water bottles instead of single use plastic, switching from paper statements to e-bills, donating your old, unused clothes, and of course, repurposing your Glam Bags every month.
To honor Earth Day, we designed a Glam Bag that will inspire IPSY members to reuse, recycle, and reduce to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away.

Behind Your April 2023 Glam Bag Design
April’s reusable Glam Bag design started with the fabric choice. “We carefully selected the cotton canvas for April’s bag because it is usually made of cotton fibers or linen and contains less toxic chemicals,” says Wong. “Cotton canvas is one of the most durable fabrics for bags. It is also lightweight, soft, and sturdy. It is a great material to use as a reusable makeup bag.” But she didn’t stop there. But omitting the bag’s inner lining, Wong reduced the amount of material used and the overall carbon footprint of April’s Glam Bags.
The front features clean, minimalist, and natural-looking indigo floral print, and the back includes the message “Look Good. Do Good.” This inspirational quote should serve as a daily reminder to take care of yourself and take care of the Earth. “We hope reusing this Glam Bag will encourage our members to reuse and recycle more in their daily lives,” adds Wong. “If you have any makeup, beauty tools, or bags that you’re no longer using, try to give them a second life. Find some creative ways to upcycle them or spread the love by donating to the people who need them.”
