I’ll be honest: In my 11+ years as a beauty editor, I’ve tried a lot of mascaras. From drugstore finds to luxury splurges, I’ve tested formulas promising everything from doll-like lashes to gravity-defying lift. But as someone with lashes that are naturally long yet straight, light, and prone to clumping, I’m pretty picky. Like, “hold-it-under-a-magnifying-glass-to-check-for-clumps” picky. My current tried-and-true heroes include E.L.F. COSMETICS Lash It Loud Mascara in Deep Brown (if you haven’t tried brown mascara, what are you doing?!), MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Great Lash Big® Washable Mascara, and my all-time favorite BENEFIT COSMETICS Roller Lash Mascara—I’ve probably gone through 15 tubes of the stuff.

So when I heard the makers of my Holy Grail mascara were back at it with a brand-new launch, the BADgal Bounce Volumizing Mascara, I was skeptical if it could live up to my Roller Lash standards. Spoiler alert: This mascara delivers in ways me and my lashes weren’t even ready for.

What You Need to Know About BENEFIT BADgal Bounce Volumizing Mascara

BADgal Bounce is all about lashes that are bouncy, fluffy, and volumized—minus the drama of clumps or flakes. The brand’s custom-engineered dual-sided brush combines two textures: a fluffy, curved side for coating and volumizing lashes and a firm, fine-tooth comb side for defining and separating them. The formula is also packed with good-for-lash ingredients, like linden bud extract to help boost fullness, rice wax to keep that lift locked in, and castor seed oil to nourish. Oh, and did I mention it’s smudge-proof, transfer-proof, and flake-proof?

My First Impressions

On my first try, I started with one coat using the fluffier side of the brush. My lashes immediately looked longer and fuller, with a natural-looking false-lash effect—like those DIY lash extensions that blend seamlessly into your natural lash line. No clumps, no fuss, just soft, fanned-out volume.

The fine-tooth comb side became my secret weapon for lower lashes. I’m back on a lower-lash mascara kick lately, and this side of the wand coated my lower lashes with just the right amount of pigment without veering into clumpy territory.

Even after tapping the wand against my lashes for a solid 20 minutes trying to secure the perfect selfies for this review (don’t judge!), the clumpage was minimal. If that’s not impressive, I honestly don’t know what is.

The BENEFIT BADgal Bounce Masara Wear Test

It is no exaggeration to say that this stuff stayed put through my whole entire day—no flakes, no smudges, not a raccoon eye in sight—even with my deep-set eyes that tend to fall victim to all of the above. From my morning company all-hands meeting to my nighttime catch-up of The Traitors season three, my lashes looked as flawless at 8 p.m. as they did at 8 a.m.

Honorable mention for how easy to end-of-day removal was, too. I double cleanse every night (cleansing balm first, then a gentle foaming cleanser), and the mascara came off easily after step one without tugging or residue left behind.

Final Thoughts

BADgal Bounce is officially a new staple in my makeup collection. It gives you natural, fluffy volume with zero hassle, and the dual-sided brush makes application customizable for your lash goals. Whether you’re going for barely-there daytime lashes or full-blown drama, this mascara has your back, well.. lashes.
