It’s 2026 and Hilary Duff isn’t “so yesterday.” In fact, she’s positioned herself back as a mainstay in our hearts with a “stronger not smaller” Ladder workout, a “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit modelling gig, and a recently announced mini Las Vegas residency and world tour. And we’re so ready to live out our Lizzie McGuire fantasies as adults.
Over here at IPSY, we’ve been drooling over Duff’s fashion and beauty style for as long as we can remember, and although as of late, Duff has been rocking a soft glam look, we can’t help but reminisce over the early 2000s trends she helped start. From 2000 to 2026, here are our favorite Hilary Duff beauty looks of all time.
It's about glam time you treated yourself.

2000s Icon: Smokey Eye + Nude Lip

If you didn’t experiment with a smokey eye and nude lip, did you even live through the Y2K era? Instead of maximizing and defining our lips the way we do now, the early 2000s were all about…hiding them. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true! We wanted nude lips at all costs, and by nude we didn’t mean a defining brown shade, we meant something that blended into our face color altogether. No one highlights this better than Miss Duff herself at the 2003 "Lizzie McGuire Movie" premiere.
In the 20 years since, we’ve figured out the easiest way to get a lip gloss that’s the exact color of your lips—by using a long-lasting clear. Our favorite is R.E.M. BEAUTY’s Essential Drip Glossy Balm In Shade On Ice.
Glossed to Perfection

Natural-looking lash extensions, silver shimmer eyeliner that catches the light, and a bubble gum pink lip? This Duff look is combining a lot of Y2K beauty trends into one and we can’t get enough. You don’t have to be a makeup artist-level expert to achieve this look at home. Just grab a shimmer stick to line your eyes with, like the THRIVE CAUSEMETICS® Brilliant Eye Brightener™ in shade white pearl shimmer and swipe on your favorite pink-tinted gloss.
Bold Lip Era

The 2010s were defined by rebellious, bold lip colors and brands like Kylie Cosmetics even launched an entire company after this idea. Of course Hilary Duff had a major bold lip moment on the red carpet with this hydrated lip look. It’s not quite matte and not quite a gloss. To achieve a similar look you need a moisture-packed lipstick, like the JONES ROAD BEAUTY classic lipstick that’s packed with hydrating shea butter and vitamin E.

Was Hilary Duff doing a snatched beauty look before it was cool? This lifted eyeshadow look combines bronzy shades with under-the-brow highlighter, which was pretty much an eyeshadow rule back in 2005 when this photo was taken.
Instead of a silvery contrast to a black eyeshadow the way traditional smokey eyes were created back then, this look bounces gold shimmery highlight shades off of deep brown hues. Get an eyeshadow palette that has lots of brown shades to play around with, like the GIRLACTIK The Essential Eyeshadow Palette. Before you apply any color to the lids, tape off the outer corner of your eyes in an upwards slant with simple scotch tape. Then apply your color and remove for an easy lifted effect.
Modern Day Glam

As much as we love Duff’s looks from the early 2000s, her new adult era makeup is definitely something to pay attention to. She’s been rocking cooler peach tones on her eyes, natural lashes, and a warm nude lip a few shades darker than her skintone.
If you want to forgo falsies like Duff, reach for a tubing mascara that adds length without weighing down lashes, thanks to the way fiber polymers wrap around each individual lash for instant volume. We can’t get enough of the KULFI BEAUTY Badi Lash Smudge Proof Volumizing Tubing Mascara.
