Why E.L.F. Is Entering Hair Care Now

At first glance, E.L.F.'s move into hair might seem surprising—but it actually makes perfect sense. “Our community has been asking us to bring e.l.f.fordable luxury into hair—and we listened,” says Kory Marchisotto, President of E.L.F. Brands.

Earlier this year, E.L.F. launched two limited-edition hair styling products: Power Grip Styling Wand and Power Grip Hair Gel + Brush Bundle. Both of these products received high praise across social media, with many switching to these products over their go-to products. Now the brand is expanding that momentum into a full hair collection.

Meet the First Six Products

The debut lineup includes six products covering everything from wash day to styling. Here's what to know. 

E.L.F. HAIR Never Thirsty Moisturizing Shampoo, $9

E.L.F. describes this as a “moisturizing shampoo that cleanses and lathers luxuriously to remove oil and product buildup for soft, smooth hair with a bright and uplifting fruit scent.”

What Could Be Next for E.L.F. HAIR?

We’re sure E.L.F. has many more hair-care products to come, and we wanted to offer a few suggestions just for fun.

• Hair Mask: With the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, it only makes sense to include a mask, too. We’d like to see both a repairing mask and a moisture mask, please.

• Leave-In Conditioner: Every great hair routine deserves a leave-in conditioner. We'd especially love to see a multitasking formula that detangles, protects against heat, and primes for blowouts.

• Hair Perfume: We love scents, and hair perfumes don’t get the justice they deserve. We want to see more of them in the world, and if anyone can make them cool, it’s E.L.F.

• Hair Accessories: Power grip claw clips? Satin scrunchies? Chic styling clips? We could absolutely see E.L.F. expanding into accessories next. We’re dying to see what they come up with.
