Who says silver makeup is only for the holidays? With chrome nails and all things holographic continuing to trend, it only makes sense to bring silver hues into your eye makeup looks. There are tons of ways to get inspired with silver makeup looks, including trying your hand at shiny silver eyeliner, smoky silver eyeshadow or even adding rhinestones to your look for a little disco ball moment.

However you prefer to get your silver glam on, we’ve rounded up the best inspiration for you to dive into. Read on for the best silver makeup looks, just waiting for you to try.

1. Silver Smoky

A silver smoky eye is a glamorous and sultry eye makeup look that features shades of silver and gray, blended together to create a smoky effect. To create a silver smoky eye, start by applying a silver eyeshadow all over the lid (try ILLAMASQUA Powder Eyeshadow in Invoke). This shiny metallic shade will serve as the base color for the look.

Next, use a fluffy blending brush to apply a gray eyeshadow into the crease and outer corner of the eye. Blend the color well to create a seamless transition between the silver and gray shades. This step adds depth and dimension to the look.

2. Disco Eyes

Inspired by glitz and glamour, we love this disco eye look created with loose glitter. Want more color? Add in a colorful eyeshadow base or reach for a multicolored glitter. You can use your fingers or pack it onto your lid with a flat brush. Don’t forget to prime to prevent fallout!

3. Silver Lining

All you need is a metallic silver eyeliner to create a silver eyeliner look. We love how easy the NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Vivid Brights Liner in Vivid Gunmetal is to use. Just experiment using it along the upper lash line or adding on your lower lash line to make your eyes appear bigger. You can even stack it over top of your go-to black liquid eyeliner cat eye.

4. Silver Outlines

This standout makeup look is so Priscilla Presley- and Maddie from Euphoria-inspired. For this, we suggest using an eyeshadow stick or liquid eyeshadow to really carve out those sharp lines and fill the color blocking in. Finish off with your favorite black liquid eyeliner. Score some of our favorite liquid liners in the IPSY Shop (our member-exclusive store with deals always up to 30 percent off retail).

5. Shimmery Lids

We love natural eye makeup looks that give a little bit of dazzle with shimmer and glitter eyeshadow. Not so sure about silver liner or eyeshadow? No worries—this subtle look is perfect for you. And it almost feels like a dewy highlighted eyelid. Here’s our guide to nailing the glossy lid look every time.

6. Dark Silver

Goth girl makeup? Yup, it’s still trending. This dark and stormy silver makeup look is dramatic and intentional. If it’s your style, try it for your everyday makeup. If not, keep it in your back pocket for your next themed party because goth glam (especially soft goth) is here to stay.

7. Halo Highlighter Lids

Another example of those subtle, highlighter lids: this look is so angelic and chic, and we can expect to see more of this gracing the runways at NYFW this year as the no-makeup makeup look with subtle pops of color continues to remain popular.

8. Silver Rhinestones

Looking for a fun touch of silver? Rhinestones will do the trick. We suggest adhering these with a little bit of lash glue for a strong hold. Play around with making both eyes look symmetrical or creating little rhinestone constellations at random.

9. Cool Blue and Silver

We love this ice queen look. Nothing looks better than blending an icy blue eyeshadow into a silver makeup look. Choose from shimmery or matte, the colored pigment is sure to help your eyes pop. You can even add just a touch in the inner corner. Want to make this look even easier? Opt for a palette with everything you need. Exhibit A: HIPDOT Cenote Pressed Eyeshadow Palette.

10. Flash of Lightning

We haven’t thought of this before, but how cute is it? Almost like a little stencil to bring a seriously trendy shape to life within your silver shadow look. You can free hand this with a silver liquid eyeliner or eye pencil. Then, fill it in. Dust a bit of translucent powder over top to really lock your lightning bolt in place.

11. Midnight Inspired

If this look was a Taylor Swift era, it would so clearly be Midnights. This eye makeup look is giving sultry yet sparkly, bringing a bit more brightness to a silver smoky eye. Create a cat-eye shape with gray shadow (keep the lighter color near the inside of your eye and a deeper gray on the outside to add dimension), then top the whole thing with iridescent glitter. More is more here!

12. Frosted Liner

This is the best example of just how good silver eyeliner can look. Don’t just save this for the holidays, wear this year-round to prove silver eye makeup looks go far beyond festive events. We’re going to make silver liquid liner a mainstay in our makeup bags.
