March doesn’t rush in, it unfolds. It’s the month where the light shifts, the air softens, and everything starts to feel possible again. This month’s Glam Bag captures that in-between moment: grounded, comforting, and quietly radiant. It’s not here to shout “spring!”—it’s here to welcome it in.
Designed in celebration of IPSY’s 4th anniversary in Mexico, March’s bag blends ancestral inspiration with modern intention, resulting in something that feels thoughtful, tactile, and deeply personal.

Joanne Wong is the Senior Designer of Fashion and Accessories at IPSY. She has been designing fashion handbags, accessories, and beauty packaging for more than 10 years for brands like Sephora, Nordstrom, Adventures by Disney, and more.

For IPSY designer Joanne Wong, this bag started with intention, not aesthetics. “We wanted to celebrate IPSY’s anniversary in Mexico through a cultural yet contemporary lens,” she says. “Instead of literal references, we focused on craftsmanship, texture, and form.”
The inspiration comes from Oaxacan clay candelabras and ancestral folklore, elements rooted in tradition, reimagined through material and detail. The result is a warm, earthy pouch crafted in faux suede leather that balances softness with structure.
“The faux suede gives the bag a comforting feel, but it’s durable enough to hold its shape and your beauty essentials,” Wong explains. It’s the kind of material you want to touch—and keep touching.

At first glance, the bag feels simple. But spend a little time with it, and it starts to tell its story. Embedded into the faux suede is a subtle sunflower embossing: soft, tonal, and intentionally low-contrast. “Getting the sunflower pattern just right was one of our biggest challenges,” Wong shares. “We wanted it to feel delicate and handcrafted, not bold or overpowering.”
That subtlety is the point. “It’s the kind of detail you might not notice right away,” she says, “but over time, it becomes your favorite part.”
Then there’s the charm: a soft gold sunburst that hangs like a quiet reminder. Inspired by ancestral symbols tied to life, energy, and natural cycles, it represents the renewal and new beginnings at the heart of March.
Compared to past spring designs, March’s bag marks an evolution. “This one feels more grounded and timeless,” Wong says. “There’s a deeper emphasis on materiality, cultural context, and meaningful details.”
And maybe that’s what makes it feel so right for this moment. It’s not a dramatic transformation, but a steady, thoughtful return to yourself. Spring doesn’t always arrive in a burst of color. Sometimes, it shows up softly: warm, golden, and exactly when you’re ready for it.
